The Lighthouse Project
Pay What You Can Counselling — Because Everyone Deserves Support
Appointment Booking starts November 1st
At Infinite Path, we believe cost should never stop someone from getting the care they need. The Lighthouse Project makes counselling accessible to all by offering sessions on a Pay What You Can model.
Whether you are a youth, adult, or child, the Lighthouse Project offers a safe place to be heard, supported, and guided — at a price that works for you.
“Guiding our community toward hope, healing, and support — regardless of financial barriers.”
What to Expect with the Lighthouse Project
How It Works
- Use Your Insurance First: If you have extended health benefits, we ask that you use them before accessing the Lighthouse Project. This allows our community funding to go further and ensures more people without coverage can access care.
- Choose Your Rate: Once insurance is used, sessions are available on a sliding scale of $20–$100 per session. You decide what works best for your budget. If you have the means to pay the standard fee, we encourage you to do so, as this helps keep Lighthouse spaces open for those facing greater financial barriers.
- Community Supported: Additional funding helps cover the gap so clinicians are supported and services remain sustainable.
- No Barriers: You’ll receive the same quality care regardless of how much you pay.
Who's It For
-
Youth and adults in Fort Saskatchewan and nearby communities.
-
Anyone struggling to afford therapy but needing timely support.
-
People who prefer dignity and choice in how they access care.
Why Lighthouse
A lighthouse provides light and guidance when the waters feel uncertain. Our program shines that same light for those navigating challenges like stress, anxiety, family transitions, or grief.
Important to Know
The Lighthouse Project is operated by Infinite Path, a private practice (not a non-profit organization). While our program is designed with a community focus, we are not able to provide charitable tax receipts.
Frequently Asked Questions
We know that starting counselling can feel overwhelming, especially if cost is a concern. The Lighthouse Project was created to make therapy more accessible for our community. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about how the program works. If you don’t see your question here, our team is always happy to help.
Q: What is the Lighthouse Project?
A: The Lighthouse Project is a counselling program that uses a Pay What You Can model. Clients contribute between $20–$100 per session, and community funding helps cover the rest so that everyone can access therapy regardless of financial situation. Please note: not all Infinite Path clinicians participate in the Lighthouse program.
Q: How do I book a session?
A: Booking is simple. You can book online through Jane website https://infinitepath.janeapp.com/ or call our office, and let us know you’d like to use the Lighthouse Project. Our admin team will help you find an available clinician who offers Lighthouse sessions.
Q: Do I have to show proof of income to qualify?
A: No. We trust you to choose the rate that works for your budget, and there is no need to provide financial documents. We kindly ask that if you have the means to pay standard fees, you do so, as this helps keep Lighthouse spaces available for community members facing financial barriers. If your circumstances change, you’re always welcome to reassess your contribution within the $20–$100 range.
Q: Will my therapy be different if I pay less?
A: Not at all. Every client receives the same level of professional, compassionate care, no matter the amount paid. The only difference is which clinicians are available through the Lighthouse program.
Q: What if I have insurance coverage?
A: If you have extended health benefits, we ask that you use them first, if possible. This allows our community funding to go further and ensures more people without coverage can access care. Once your benefits are used, you are welcome to continue through the Lighthouse Project with an eligible clinician at the rate that works for you.
Q: How long will the Lighthouse Project be available?
A: Our goal is for the Lighthouse Project to be a long-term program. It is supported by client contributions and community funding. While availability depends on continued support, we are committed to doing everything we can to keep it going and will always communicate openly with clients about any changes.
Q: What if I need to change what I pay later?
A: That’s okay. We understand that circumstances can shift. You can adjust your contribution within the $20–$100 sliding scale at any time. If this means changing clinicians, our admin team will work with you to find the best fit.
Q: Can I switch between Lighthouse sessions and regular sessions?
A: In many cases, yes. If your financial situation changes, you can move to standard fee sessions or continue with Lighthouse — depending on the clinician you are working with. Not all Infinite Path clinicians offer Lighthouse sessions, so if you’d like to make a change, our admin team can help you find the best option.
Q: Is Infinite Path a non-profit?
A: No. Infinite Path is a private practice, not a non-profit organization. That means we cannot provide tax receipts for payments or contributions. The Lighthouse Project is simply our way of making counselling more accessible to our community.
The Lighthouse Project is about making sure no one has to face life’s challenges alone because of financial barriers. Whether you’re using insurance benefits, contributing through the Pay What You Can scale, or adjusting as your circumstances change, our goal is to meet you where you are.
