Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you provide therapy for?
Our counselling services are tailored to meet the needs of people of all ages, ranging from children to adults, as well as couples and families. For preschool and school-aged children, we offer speech and language therapy that is specifically designed to help them develop and improve their communication skills. In the near future, we will also be introducing occupational therapy services to further enhance our offerings.
What types of therapy do you provide?
Our team works with clients of all ages, and we tailor our approach to the person — not just the presenting concern.
For children, we use approaches that meet kids where they are, including Therapeutic Play, Play-Based CBT, and Bibliotherapy (using stories to explore feelings). These create space for children to express and work through emotions in a way that feels natural and safe.
For teenagers and adults, we draw on several evidence-based approaches depending on what you're working through:
- CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) — helps you notice and shift unhelpful thought patterns
- ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) — builds psychological flexibility and helps you move toward what matters to you
- SaCBT (Spiritually Augmented CBT) — integrates faith and spirituality into the CBT framework, for those for whom that's meaningful
- SFBT (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy) — a forward-looking approach focused on your strengths and what's already working
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) — a well-researched approach for processing trauma and distressing memories
- EFT (Emotion-Focused Therapy) — helps individuals and couples understand and work with their emotions, especially in relationships
- Written Exposure Therapy — a structured, writing-based approach for processing trauma
- Gottman Therapy — evidence-based couples therapy focused on building trust, communication, and connection
Your therapist will talk with you about which direction makes sense. You don't need to arrive with an answer — that's what the first session is for.

Are your services covered by insurance?
If you are seeking services from Psychologists, Registered Social Workers, Canadian Certified Counsellors, Speech-Language Pathologists or Occupational Therapists, your insurance may cover the costs. To know for sure, it is advisable to contact your insurance provider and confirm which health professionals they will cover. Additionally, we offer the convenience of direct billing to select insurance providers.
Some of our clinicians are in the process of registering as a mental health professional and may not be covered by insurance at this time. Please email us if you are unsure and would like clarification.
How do I schedule an appointment or consultation?
To get started, we offer a free 20-minute consultation — a chance to ask questions and see if we're a good fit before booking a full session. You can reach us at info@infinitepath.ca or 587-735-2343. We do our best to get back to you within two business days.
How long is each session?
The length of your session will depend on the service you are receiving. For therapy and counselling, the session typically will last 50 minutes, sometimes longer depending on the type of session. Speech-Language sessions may last anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your individual needs and goals.
Do you offer sliding scale options for those in financial need?
When it comes to clients in financial need, we offer a range of sliding-scale options to ensure that our services are accessible to everyone. We understand that financial hardship can be a barrier to getting the help you need, which is why we strive to make our services available at a reduced rate when necessary. Our sliding scale options take into account your income and other financial obligations to determine a fair and reasonable rate for our services. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality care, regardless of their financial situation, and we are committed to making that a reality for our clients.
