Counselling for Children (Ages 5-11)
Children often don’t have the words for what they’re feeling — but they show us in other ways. Changes in behaviour, difficulty at school, trouble with friendships, anxiety that seems bigger than the situation, or simply a sense that something’s shifted. If you’ve noticed any of these, you’re not overreacting.
Our therapists work with children using approaches that meet them where they are — play, stories, creative expression, and conversation — depending on what feels natural for your child. Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process too. You won’t just be dropping them off.
What to Expect
Counselling for school-aged children helps them manage emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills. Therapy may address anxiety, low mood, behaviour challenges, peer issues, or changes at home. Sessions use a mix of talk, art, and play to meet each child where they’re at.
